We arranged an extempore beach day and ended up going to Kuusijärvi, which is a versatile nature and recreation area in the Kuninkaanmäki district of Itä-Vantaa.
We arranged an extempore beach day with a friend and ended up going to Kuusijärvi, which is a versatile nature and recreation area in the Kuninkaanmäki district of Itä-Vantaa. Getting to the lake was a bit difficult and time-consuming by public transport since we were coming from a different city, so we ended up renting a GoMore car!
We arrived after a short drive. The place was completely new to me, although many people come to Kuusijärvi to sauna, swim, exercise in nature and relax all year round. Kuusijärvi also has several lighted fitness trails of different lengths. The fitness trails are renovated into ski tracks in winter, at other times they are shared by walkers, runners and cyclists.
The water sparkled as the sun's rays hit its surface and the surrounding wooded shores created an idyllic environment for relaxing and enjoying the peace of nature. It was a wonderful sunny day!
Although there were quite a lot of people, the beach didn't feel too busy which was great!
There was also a wonderful cafe where (of course) we got ice cream at the end of the day!
