NEUSIEDLER SEE, Burgenland (71 km)

The Lake Neusiedl-Seewinkel National Park is an idyllic natural paradise offering leisure activities for young and old. In Europe's only steppe lake, you can go sailing, kite surfing, windsurfing during the day or simply go swimming and enjoy the sun on hot days at the lido baths in Illmitz, Podersdorf or Neusiedl am See. In addition to water sports activities, the national park also offers opportunities for horseback riding, hiking, cycling and a birdwatching safari, during which you can admire the 340 different species of birds in the region. In the evenings, many people stop at traditional restaurants like a Heuriger or a Buschenschank, as this area is known as a wine region.

REGION WACHAU, Lower Austria (79 - 85 km)

The Wachau is not only known for its juicy apricots in summer, but is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site with many leisure activities. Besides ruins and castles, you can also visit the many beautiful hills with numerous vineyards. As the Danube flows through the Wachau, there is also the possibility of taking a Danube boat trip or cycling along the Danube Cycle Path to marvel at the unique landscape. In the Wachau, you can also visit the towns of Krems an der Donau with its landmark Steiner Tor or Dürnstein with its monastery and the ruins of Dürnstein.

SEMMERING, Lower Austria/Styria (98 km)

Although the Semmering-Hirschenkogel region is mainly known for skiing and winter tourism, you can also do some activities in fall. Especially for families with children, the Semmering is a popular destination. At Hirschenkogel there is a new forest ropes course, a children's play paradise and the Millenium Jump. In addition, there is also the possibility to explore the region by mountain bike or hiking.

SOPRON, Hungary (75 km)

Since you can also take trips abroad with GoMore cars, there are also some excursion destinations in Austria's neighbouring countries. One of these is Sopron in Hungary, which lies south of Vienna. In addition to the fire tower in the old town, you can explore the Fertő-Hanság National Park with the Esterházy Castle, the Lövérek Adventure Park and the "Boszorkány" witchcraft trail around the town. When the weather is nice there are also some bathing paradises in Sopron like Bükfürdő, Hegykő or Sárvár.

BRATISLAVA, Slovakia (80 km)

The capital of Slovakia, only an hour east of Vienna, offers tourists an idyllic old town and a breathtaking view over the city and the Danube from Bratislava Castle. If you want a bit of nature in addition to your city trip, you can visit the Botanical Garden or go hiking in the Devínska Kobyla (Small Carpathians).

BRNO, Czech Republic (137 km)

Finally, you can reach the city of Brno (Brünn) in the Czech Republic in just under two hours from Vienna. There you can explore the city with its numerous cathedrals or the Hády Hill, which is also a recreational area. In addition, the Brno Reservoir is a great place to cool off in the summer. If you also want to discover Brno's surroundings, a tour of South Moravia is recommended.
